feels just like the arcades

solid graphics and gameplay, very remeniscent
to that of time crisis. in maybe a third iteration
of the series, add more then a single level and
boss fight.

Problem is, I'm already over the 5mb limit with just this. Essentially, I'm splitting the game into three parts, this being level 2.

lacking

the game just wasnt entertaining, creative,
new, or original. the sprites were, however,
nicely rendered and the comic layout panels
were rich in design and visually appealing;
also, music was sparse and lackluster too.
though my biggest problem is the physics
with the side walls, confused as to why i cant
bounce it diagonally off, instead it follows it
evenly along, making it frustrating and difficult.
you say you fixed the bug, but it seems to be
still apparent.

Youdagames responds:

Oke let me explain again.
The thing you are talking about is no bug.
You can play balls with curve. When the ball moves down from the upper wall and you ricochet that ball while moving your ship downwards, the ball gets a backspin. when it then hits the upper wall the curve on that ball will make the ball cling to the sides.
It is basicly the same effect that you encounter when you push your thumb onto a ping pong ball the ball will first move away from your thumbs but due to the backspin it will find grip on whatever surface its on and return to your thumb.
Sounds complicated but it really isn't.
You the rotation of the ship to ricochet in angles for less curving balls. Yo!

where is the Q?

best adventure game ever played...in
terms of flash that is ;P

the controls were tight and the design
is entertaining and effective. my only
complaint is that it at times slowed down,
and there wasnt a quality button in sight.
its almost a must for games to have a
option to do so, if not, it becomes very
alienating. otherwise i incourage for more
winkness.

gel responds:

Aw, come on, MJ, you didn't go to the menu? Options! There's more than just Flash's built-in quality settings too. You know I wouldn't make a game without quality settings; it's a must!

I seriously don't know how you missed it. Just click around, like on that gray X in the corner. ;)

oh so close

love the artwork and the thought that
went behind the game, like a flash
edition of "house of the dead."
unfortuneately, the camera has
no sense of direction in where
your moving, enemies constantly
move on and off screen, yet hardly
move towards you. plus, why am i
getting my ass handed to me by
smilies with knives? WTH!!! if the
collision detection was better, the
game would of been more enjoyable,
rather then cheap; however, it is too
much on the easy side.

Godlimations responds:

ahahahah!!! I love the comment, those little yellow shrums must pay!

despite beer heaven...

honestly it wasnt entertaining, also a bit
hard to actually land a shot, since the
target you rely on is your massively
sized shadow, but that doesnt mean
its the range of your attack unfortunately.
if there were more of a type of reticle, maybe,
and some more depth to it to keep it enjoyable...
it wouldnt of been so bad, especially since the
controls were fluid with the mouse and felt neat.

Is this...

Is this "haiku"?

booyah!

there is no such thing as "too many
tutorials." in fact, i find this the most
concise one yet. simple, straight forward,
even though the design and outlook of it
maybe boring to look at, at least it has the info.

Thanks for the review :D

meh

the game is way too boring,
especially when you are forced
to watch the other player/comp
make up his mind, then to watch
the move. if it werent so slow paced,
its still a simple game by design. its
not entirely creative or original; just
like most long distance, object throwing
games. though it does look different
regardlessly by appearence.

Matmi responds:

Thanks for your review. The game is not that simple. There is a great deal of physics involved with it.

Did you use the sweeping cows? What score did you get?

To say its not creative is a little harsh as we created it.

We have reviewed your own work!

not too shabby

the concept was
unique and original.
visually it was basic
and simplisitc, though
the colors were vibrant
and the sfx effects were
exubrant. it was delightful
to somewhat make your own
music was a well placed
shot; however, the game
lose its interest after
awhile and did become
boring.

GameBalance responds:

Thanks Mj!

solid game

neat concept, it blends
the stratigic concept
of 'gradius v' and 'megaman',
where depending on what
color coding you are, you
can only recieve damage
from the opposing color
coded enemies. the game
as it is is amazing, very
in likeness of the actual
snes game...though throwing
in a strategic element further
improves upon most other
flash, sprite games. making
it very creative and original,
unique experience to play.
also challenging too,
excellent job overall.

Frankenroc responds:

The polarity switching idea, in my head, actually game from Ikaruga. Glad you liked it just the same though.

very original concept

its an original, unqiue,
and creative game!
when of the funnest
puzzle games i have
played in awhile. the
graphics were simplistic,
but in a fitting way and
the gamplay requires
fast thinking and
maintenance over
the impatient prayers.
shurely a deservent
entry for the monthly
voting.
kudos,
MJ
