thank you

i remember seeing the first lj as one of the
main flash titles of ng, and after all these
years, to finally see a sequel to the original
classic is nice. i enjoy the different blends of two
distinct art styles, that of hip hop and samurias.
kind of like samuria champloo, but i remember
lj being out way before that creation. animation
was really professional, especially for consisting
of slick use of tweening. the violence and art have
up the ante from the original and so has it's sense
of humor; an all around solid flash.

clever

surprisingly entertaining concept with great
and convincing use of the flash desktop. also
humorous ending as well.

music is soul

this flash was damn fresh and innovative.
it has a unique style of animation i haven't
seen before, but is executed in a somber, yet
beautiful way. not only in visual design, but in
meaning as well.

chibi!

the chibi size crew added for a unique visual
twist for the flash. animation was solid and
fluid, however, it was hard to make out rockman
during the fight scenes, especially that you can't
tell what power changes he is doing or what. though
the professional quality and visual direction makes
this a worthy intro for the series.

master of flash horror

i've been wating for a couple of years now for
"rain" - and yes, i do have my umbrella, but will
i really need it? seeing that the last weather
prediction was false last year, but i am patient.

bubble gum ass kicking?!

well shot and directed video with hilarious voice
and dialogue. i only wish it were longer and that
he actually use one of the three grenades he had.

keep at it

animation and voicework were solid and of good
quality, but my only gripe are the characters.
they have that standard anime style, which is fine,
but they lack clothing. yes, i realize that having
basic clothing makes animating easier to convey,
but it's hard for me to get into the story, especially
based on such a cool aspect of vampires, when they
have such a bland and basic design. either they had
that retro look from Castlevania, or the modern twist
of Blade, i just ask you make them more visually
appealing or believable. also, on a side note, nice
effect with the vampires death, which is dead accurate
for that disintegrating effect.

a under dog :)

you know a flash like this is a under dog, when
it doesn't have a daily award, but deserves the
attention to be displayed on the front page.
turn ons [sexually? lol] were the energetic sense
of motion and gesture styled art and animation.
a rare style that is very appealing, but is usually
turned down, due to it's rough manner of contour.
inside video game references or jokes were the
highlight [also the begining scene of an insinuated
issue of having actual crabs XD], but i wasn't amused
by the cliched amounts of use of looney toon noises,
which were kind of obnoxious. though slightly hinders
the overal, impressionable charm it has.

Underdog, eh? Now there's a term I like the sound of. Thanks for the comments!

time paradox!

the sad thing is, this can be said the same
for the bigger industries, such as movie
business as well. just look at all the comic
based movies that are coming off the conveyor
belt or horror remakes. reason people tend to
choose all ready established characters of fame,
then that of original creations, is that there is
always the sense of uncertainty that it might
not be successful. though it's better to risk the
possibility of "crash-n-burn", because as long
as you put a well thought out effort, talent, and
creativity into a project, it will always get attention.
even if the critiques don't approve of it from there
self proclaimed steepels, they'll most likely become
cult hits.

thanks for the very surprisingly fresh view on the subject!
