not as cool as max payne...but great none the less
booyah!:
I hope it will be continued, I thought I was going to have this awesome fight with the boss guns a blazing, but I'm worried about that becuase he has double machine gun uzi.
The gameplay was very cleverly done. You can only do half the damage while standing and only receiving half on yourself. Same goes for crouching, but it does a one hit kill, though you could easily be killed in one hit also. I love the gameplay mechanic and it really adds difficulty when there might not have been any to the game itself.
The animation was subperb and so fluid. The miniscule characters were so life like in animation. The story wasn't that impressive, but I have to give you kudos for the max payne stylish cinematics, or more appropiately, graphic comic strips. Visuals were very impressive and not short of impressive. It was annoying to see the same items through each level, or story, in the warehouse. The backgrounds were bland and uncreative. The enemies seemed typical, but realistic. Just needs more variety in enemy types.
Muisc and sound were ok, not necessarily bad, but not impressive either.
As violent as you would think it would be when it comes to gangters shooting each other.
For the interactivity score, I just subsituted it for the gameplay, which was great. It played nicely, had some difficulty, which is good, and some stratigic elements.
Though for the sequel I wish thier were more variety in background, enemy types, and it wouldn't hurt to throw in some more weapon types. Like machine guns, shotguns, etc. The boss has cool weapons, so should the main character. Maybe he could earn them after deafting a boss? These are just some suggestions for what I think would make the game better then what it already is.
4/5
Can't wait for sequel if there is one.
kudos,
