not as cool as max payne...but great none the less

booyah!:
I hope it will be continued, I thought I was going to have this awesome fight with the boss guns a blazing, but I'm worried about that becuase he has double machine gun uzi.
The gameplay was very cleverly done. You can only do half the damage while standing and only receiving half on yourself. Same goes for crouching, but it does a one hit kill, though you could easily be killed in one hit also. I love the gameplay mechanic and it really adds difficulty when there might not have been any to the game itself.
The animation was subperb and so fluid. The miniscule characters were so life like in animation. The story wasn't that impressive, but I have to give you kudos for the max payne stylish cinematics, or more appropiately, graphic comic strips. Visuals were very impressive and not short of impressive. It was annoying to see the same items through each level, or story, in the warehouse. The backgrounds were bland and uncreative. The enemies seemed typical, but realistic. Just needs more variety in enemy types.
Muisc and sound were ok, not necessarily bad, but not impressive either.
As violent as you would think it would be when it comes to gangters shooting each other.
For the interactivity score, I just subsituted it for the gameplay, which was great. It played nicely, had some difficulty, which is good, and some stratigic elements.
Though for the sequel I wish thier were more variety in background, enemy types, and it wouldn't hurt to throw in some more weapon types. Like machine guns, shotguns, etc. The boss has cool weapons, so should the main character. Maybe he could earn them after deafting a boss? These are just some suggestions for what I think would make the game better then what it already is.

Can't wait for sequel if there is one.

a true old school beat-em up

booyah!:
Very addictive with simple, mindless fun.
Very enjoyable, as a beat-em up it was hard, but that is what they are known for.
Bosses were unique and each had thier own signature moves, just like a beat-em up.
Though I wish there were more levels, but this is just a demo, and as a demo, it looks like the game is coming out just fine.
It would be nice to see more then one special move and the ability to block against normal attacks.
Visuals were great and the special effects weren't that spectacular, but spiffy looking.
There wasn't much of a storyline at all, but gameplay more then makes up for it.
Best arcade fighter since along while, look forward to full version.
Also it would be nice if you could actually use the money that you beat out of oppenets for upgrages such as weapons, rather then point value. The game would kick even more ass with two player mode like the original Double Dragon.

not too shabby

ok:
Too bad it was simplistic, liked the concept, but needs more depth into it.
Naked man has to be the coolest character concept ever, but didn't he use to have a red cape and the signature twinnkle in his eye?
Animation was smooth and pleasent to look at, liked the insane amount of carnage that was on screen, but I can' t get passed hard, maybe thats why it's called hard difficulty...hmm...puzzling :D
Once you have beaten it, there really isn't that much of an incentive to play it again, what you see is what you get.
VS mode was a nice feature, but doesn't add much fun into the mix. Seems like this is better suited for a cartoon or at least with more minigames.
3/5
I reccomend going to the site and actually downloading one of naked man games, very funny and awkard mini games that require button timing to perform a heroic act of nakedness. Very similair to warios inc.

mj

oh yeah!

66625 ponts
1214 kills
Try to beat that!
Though I'm pretty shure that wasn't the best score =P
I thought that this game was really entertaining, despite how it was really slow. I do realized that zombies are slow, so it make sense as to why is, but despite a possible reason doesn't make up for one of it's flaws. Even on low quality I still did have issues with speed. Maybe it's just me, but I hope there is some way you can fix it if not.
The visuals were ok, not that stylish in presnetation or appeal, but just medicore.
I found the sound very humourous with the grunts and shambles for...brains...and I'm hungry. It seems some people don't understand why it takes them 30 shots to kill a zombie, the reason is that they aren't aiming for the weak spot on thier head. I'm a big afficiando of zombies and I'm glad that you applied that technique into the game. Also, it reminded me of one of george romero's dead movies becuase thier is always a group, in this case one, of individuals who barricade themselves into a building of some sort against a barrage of the undead.
Violence seem lacking and I kind of expected more, since it is dealing with zombies.
The gameplay was awesome, dispite the slow down, and I found the extensive amount of upgrades solid. You can build up your house with mines, barb wire fences, wood plankes, etc. Same goes for the weapons which consists of uzi, shotgun, molotov cocktails, etc. (This remindes me of the fort in 28 days later.) I was worried that I wouldn't be able to see all of my cool upgrades becuase of the easy progression I was making in the first half, but found that with each level it got harder and longer. Despite the slight difficulty change, the game was still to easy to beat and near the end I was invincible.
Though most would see this as another fortress game, it does have a clever clitch. Though you could still upgrade your fort like the others, this had a nice targeting system. Not only can you hit certain body parts...well two really... you also have a alternate weapon which can be selected between transitions. Even the reload system was neat and had me nervously anticipating for it to fill up again as the enemies draw near.
3/5
Nice features, but length mixed with simple difficulty adds up to boredom.

Great review! A few things to note:

1. Speed is definitely an issue, but it is not due to the amount of objects on screen so much as all the code running in the background to make those enemies work right. Fixable? Possibly, but don't hold your breath.

2. You can shoot any part of the enemies, head, body or arms/legs. Heck you can even shoot away the arms if you hit them enough.

3. I have uploaded a modifed version that makes the zombies a little faster and thus a little harder.

very appealing

short, but sweet:
This is the most original game I've seen in style since a long time. It's simple, yet oddly addictive to play, but freaking hard! I think this is the coolest concept for even animated movie, but the game is still great none the less.
I love the character designs and backdrops. It is great to make it to a new level just to see what I'm capturing next. Has the noir appeal with stylish look.
I really reccomend this, maybe it doesn't have violence or killing, but the simplicity and very cool look of it makes up for it.

snooze:
I've read your comment and I understand what you mean, but I'm not a flash game creator so I truely don't know how to make one. Though I'm still going to say what most have said...this was boring. As a person who has played games, I know what is entertaining and what isn't. A contributing reason would be how slow paced it was, despite it's supposedly being fast paced action. The only thing I can say at least was interesting about this was the concept of shooting in all directions. Also, the enemies and backgrounds seemed bland and uncreative. You can't really argue with it becuase with bad guys ranging from stick figures to bouncing bunny balls? They really don't seem meancing.
This game loses appeal way too much and I found myself quiting earlier in the game. Also, the colors seemed obnoxiously bright. Maybe it was just me, but it was an eye sore.

bad indeed

It was hard and loses appeal easily.
I keep trying, but found myself dying a lot so I just gave up. I could of easily managed to get farther then I did if I kept trying, but there really isn't anything special here to motivate me to do so. Liked the old school feel, but there are a lot of games that could be done, that are better then this; For example, metal slug?

addictive, but short

Too bad it was only one level, I would of enjoyed more. It was very addictive and one of the best side scrolling shooters on this site, besided divine intervention. It wasn't as good as bush shoot out, but was fun while it lasted. It was wierd and awkard as to why the camera zoomed on to the queen of england's clivage, wtf?! I guess it was for humourous purposes, but it kind of disturbed me.

good i guess

Boring:
It was a little slow paced and easy.
Original concept, but nothing that seems too new or interesting to keep me motivated from playing it again.
I did like the remix looney tunes song with the drum beat though.

Outstanding

70 sec left is my fastest time.
That was kick ass and for a good reason too.
At 1st I thought it would be the game were you move worms and attack others by using absurd weapons, but this is better. Love the madness combat touch of dressing up the main character. The designs were cool, but it would of been nice to have more, but I'm not complaining.
The music was fitting and really captured the mood. Though it was funny to see it with worms though.
Obviously I like the concept of it having the divine intervention gameplay and it works, did I also tell you I'm a big fan of zombies =P
Love zombies, love them better if you can play a game with them. This was so unexpected, but in a good way. I adored it's since of style and I found no problems whats so ever. Of course it would be nice to see more enemy types, but I can't get over the fact there are zombies!!! It did tend to lag in the later portions, but nothing a low quality fixing can do. Despite I have a really good computer though? Anyway, it still looks great on low and plays alot smoother and faster. The sword added a nice touch becuase I was hoping for more then just run and gun, can actually have some melee attacks. My favourite part is when a group clusters in real close and with a single swing...all thier heads are flying everywhere...booyah!!!
This was so fun despite it's short appeal and I crave more! It looked great, sounded awesome, played fluidly, and was a solid experience overall, plus come on? It has zombies!!!
Forget people who say to keep to the real experience, this is something new and original and obviously shows by recieving the 1 feature award. It doesn't make sense as to why people would want to play the same thing over and over again? Maybe becuase they like it, but I like the direction of this. Just throw in a couple unique boss fights and I'll be in heaven.
Loved how my character can jump over a huge clump of enemies while still having the ability to shoot them, just wish he went more into a front flip =D
5/5: may I suggest double weapon holding, one for melee attack and other for weapon assult. Like chain saw and double barrel shotgun ie: evil dead?
kudos,
