not too shabby

even though the game lacks
in some areas, such as quality
in presentation, visuals or sfx.
the game makes up for in original
and creative concept, that is simplistic
and unique as a strategy, puzzle game.
though as much as i do think strategy
and thinking is involved, especially with
the force, trajectory, and gravitational
pull of the comet...in the end is comes
down to simply a trial and error; especially
when at times its completely undetermined
to know how the comet will exactly react.
though as much as i was hooked onto this
for awhile, interest in completing it does
diminish over time and the feeling of it is repititive.

lacking

the game was too simplistic
and even with two players,
it feels rather boring and
bland. the only good thing
to say were the crisp visuals.

not too shabby

nice king of the hill style
of gameplay where one has
to push another opponet to
ones side. the visuals were
adequate and the music was
only mediocre, but its nice to
see a solid game that involves
two players to play, which this
site seems to lack of. though it
could of use some more depth,
which could include more levels
that had their own unique style
with a variety of powerups or
enviromental hazards to mix up
the gameplays repertoire of blandness.

well...its an improvement over the
2nd one, though still leaves more
to be desired. the visuals, which
were subpar, does get the job
done, but could be oh so much
better with the idea you trying to
achieve; such as the doom-esque style.
double weilding scheme was interesting
and unique, but ends up making the
game an overkill on easy. especially
when you have all the weapons to
begin with, ruining the point of ever
using the pistols or making it challening
at all. even with the issue about limited
ammo, with the two checkpoints in the
short game, it continue to add to the
breezeness one feels after playing.
the concept idea was bizzare and not
completely well thought out, then again
we do play it just for the action...but even
the action wasnt that satisfying with the
slow paced speed of things. not only that,
but the audio wasnt that impressive either,
even with the repertoire of the alarms which
were agonizing to hear...same goes with the
brief voicework. the only real issue is to make
it faster so its more entertaining and engaging.

ha, it reminds me of those
built in games that come with
typing tutorials to improve your
typing. though im not THE fastest
typer, it did put up quite the challenge.
also nice to see a change of pace in
the flash game genre, though not
entirely ground breaking either.
plus the ng mode was somewhat
etertaining, but wasnt too much
different, only by visuals.

wow...this has to be the
best flash, arcade shooter
on this site. everything from
the vibrant and colorful visuals,
to the fast, action packed gameplay
is flowing with nostalgia. though it
consists of 8 levels, which is quite
the few by most standards, it still
takes an hours play time to accomplish.
its quite the adrenaline rush to weave
in between hundredths of shots and still
come out victorious or at least with me it
was. also impressive to watch your powerups
slowly upgrade into an arsenal of pure,
incarnated death; most noticeable was
the purple beam at its maximum. though
even when it seems you have the upper
hand, you still have to keep your eye out for
the occasional enemy shot that might come in
every now and then. which keeps the game from
becoming too easy, that and the spectacular boss
fights...i mean the 5th one went through 4 stages
before being defeated. overall it was a subperb
game by all means and quite the challenging
one too, i still got a kick when hearing the
same, ominous music when you know the boss
is near. also, the handy saving feature was just
further icing on the cake.

awful

the game design was
simplistic and an overkill
on easy difficulty. it was
rather boring and derivative
overall and became monotonous
when playing. though the sprites
were accurate, but thats the only
good thing to say. plus there is
no creativity here to seperate it
from every other mario clone.

solid game

nicely made flash port
of the excellent arcade
game. this is what sprites
are mdae for...for playing
and not to watch. the game
was a bit on the easy side,
though still puts up a challenge.
the carnage and gore was satisfying.
though my only complaint is how to
really not recieve damage from other
tanks, especially when your are in
one yourself. the tank quite jump
high enough to clear the missiles,
but cant shoot them down either.
which was actually frustrating,
but this is by far the best metal
slug game you can play closest
to the real thing. though next time it
could help to add more depth with more
levels and increase the difficulty to keep
it from a run n'gun.

not too shabby

its a simple action platformer,
but still delievers entertainment.
the jumping mechanics did seem
a little rough around the edges,
it was either you were too short
of a jump or too long. this issue
especially came up in the 2nd
level with the 2nd set of saws
i think, it seem like i couldnt
quite make on it ever...possible
glitch or fault on my part?
otherwise it was fun while it
lasted, but not completely innovative
either. also the visuals were crisp too.

mediocre

its quite the absurd
game with the visual
twist on sniping. the
scope effect was nifty,
but the game was rather
easy despite the harder
difficulty settings and the
'eliminate all enemies'
missions were over abundant
making the game repititous.
also, besides the increase
of missions, it isnt too different
from the original; could use some
more variety too.
